The idea of retiring scared me to death to be perfectly honest about it. So much of my identity was tied up in what I did for a living. Of course, my career also happened to be my passion as well. So perhaps that had more to do with it than anything else. But leaving that job was not easy. It was even tougher when I lost my wife. Yet, here I am and I find myself in a new state where recreational marijuana is legal. This is indeed like starting over in a way that I really couldn’t have imagined. But my wife and I had always planned to retire here. This is where she was from and she wanted to spend our golden years here since she lived all over with me as I moved for my job. I know that she’s getting a big laugh out of the fact that I’m enjoying visiting the local cannabis spot. We both smoked recreational marijuana back when we were first dating. Those were our college years and everyone was smoking weed. But I hung that part of my life up when we had a family and I got into my career. And they are always on the lookout for new cannabis strains for sale that they think I might like. I sure do love being retired which is a surprise.
