I was helping a new franchisee open his cannabis store.

I knew we needed SEO for his website, and we needed to do some advertising before the cannabis store opened.

He asked if he should hire a PPC company. I wasn’t sure if the PPC was going to be right for a cannabis store. PPC worked well for some businesses, but a cannabis store got a lot of business without all the advertising. Once someone found out there was a cannabis store in the area, people would gravitate and others would follow. I couldn’t see him starting a new business and paying whenever someone clicked on his website just out of curious. Ninety percent of people clicked on the website out of curiosity without really caring to make a purchase or go to the store. We talked about PPC and hiring a company who could do PPC for quite some time. The soon-to-be owner finally agreed with me. He said there were so many ways to let people know there was a new cannabis store in the area that he didn’t think the PPC was necessary. He wanted to do some social media management, but he was going to talk to a digital marketing company and let them do it for him. He already had someone working on his website, so I asked why he didn’t talk to them about PPC and social media management. He said he never thought about it. This new cannabis store owner had a lot to learn about cannabis, and how to run a business if he was going to be successful.
