I agreed to pick up an extra shift next friday, so my friend can have the day off.
He was originally scheduled to work at the marijuana dispensary from 6:00 p.m.
until 11:00 p.m. He asked me to cover his shift so he could do something with his girlfriend for their 1 year anniversary. It’s always good to do someone a favor, so I said yes. I have to work from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. that day on my own shift and then I have to work for Jack. The extra overtime hours will be nice. I was already getting close to 40 before the double shift on Friday and that will put me over for the week. Friday is one of the busiest days of the week at the recreational marijuana shop, so I know the time will go fast. When the day is busy the time always moves quickly. Sometimes I look up at the clock and hours have passed even though it only feels like minutes. There are definitely some perks to having a busy shift, especially when it’s going to be a long one. Jack’s going to owe me a favor after this and I will probably use it during Christmas when I want an extra day off from the recreational and medical marijuana store. My mom and dad are going to come to town for a visit and I will probably want more than 2 days off that week. I can request time off and then Jack can cover any extra shift that I will need.
