I write website content for a living. It is a really easy job since I don’t report to an office. I am contracted by an SEO business. I don’t technically work for them so I can take it or leave it when they send me a request. I get paid by the website. The majority of what the search engine optimization business does is HVAC content. I know all about heating systems, AC and air quality. I had to learn about HVAC in order to write content for it. I needed to learn what people want to see on google. What do prospective HVAC buyers need to know and are looking for? What keywords do I need to include so that the SEO analyst can link them and help them rank on google? It was time consuming up front but now I know my HVAC. The SEO team is branching into cannabis now. With weed becoming legal recreationally, a lot of people are opening stores. Now the SEO business is about 40% cannabis content requests. I have needed to learn a whole new range of topics. I need to know flower, oil, edibles, tinctures, topicals and smoking equipment. I need to learn the difference between medical weed and recreational weed. I have written about curbside pickup, cannabis delivery, dab bars and vape lounges now. Cannabis SEO is a lot more fun. The content is so different from HVAC. The world of weed is slowly changing as well. It is always nice to have something new too. I really like doing the cannabis content and I hope it keeps coming.
